I am not an objective reviewer as I have never purchased a shaver from a brand other than Philips that I am happy with, therefore I see no reason to switch to another brand. When my 3000 series razor broke, I decided to treat myself to this piece from the 9000 series. It shaves noticeably better and offers a couple of new useful features, but if you're looking for the best bang for your buck, I'd still recommend sticking with the 3000 series. I've already listed all the positives and negatives I've observed in a bullet point list. In short, I am satisfied with the machine, however, since I use it not only for beard but also for hair and occasionally for pubic hair, I would have appreciated less "features" that criticize me every time I shave for incorrect pressure and imperfect circular movements with the wrist, and I would have appreciated better battery life compared to previous models.
The rotary blades found in this machine are really sharp.
It shaves noticeably better than previous Philips electric shavers of this type.
The machine is easy to wash thanks to the relatively high water resistance of its top part.
Unlike previous models, it displays the percentage of battery charge in more detail.
In the mobile app, it is possible to turn off the colour alert for sub-optimal pressure.
For those who use the razor primarily to shave their beard, the razor and the mobile app offer a range of tools to improve shaving technique.
