I'm comparing my 13 year old PocketBook 622 Touch with this Boox. The difference is noticeable, but not as marked as I would have expected after all these years. The size of the display is absolutely identical, the overall dimensions of the device are not. I was considering returning the Boox because my charge percentage was dropping precipitously. But that was due to the fact that I played with the new reader and tried everything possible. I ended up keeping it. The text versus PB setting here is much broader. And for example, the touchscreen display area can be configured to suit you, with the display divided into 3x3 areas, each of these segments can then be configured for different functions. And thanks to android, I have other options, albeit at the cost of higher power consumption. But the Czech translation of Android is really poor in some settings menus. The setup is more complicated (hidden under several menus, you have to try "what does it actually do") thanks to the translation, but once you figure it out, you won't need to change it anymore. After the second charge I still have 14% with 21 days of use and a net reading time of over 34 hours. Simply going to sleep for a longer period of time also drains the battery percentage, so it's better to turn the reader off completely for a longer period of time. But every power-up after that means -2%. Backlight with light temperature control is OK. The original packaging is not cheap, but I still recommend it. However, I was surprised that there is no update available as we are used to with android phones that update immediately after connecting to the internet.
