I purchased the lamp as a device to light up a room instead of using a large ceiling light, which it does exactly. I don't have that much experience with this kind of luminaires and that's why I was surprised by the available modes - different effects, flickering, colours etc. Even the mode where the lamp listens to ambient sounds and then transforms the sound intensity into coloured light is interesting. There is a flawless remote control to set basic functions (on/off, intensity, white temperature - cold/warm and in several degrees, listening mode, BT speaker volume). The lamp is rotatable (300 degrees) i.e. can illuminate the room directly or by reflection against the wall. The built-in BT speaker worked when the phone and TV were connected. I do have a slight reservation about the volume though - On first and second gear only the reproduction is quiet, and third gear is quite a bit louder and it goes up. I would have welcomed "softer" transitions. Even with the app connected, it doesn't change. It is not always possible to set the correct volume of the music/sound. The lamp shines evenly and switching the intensity and colour is no problem. Even the sound from the BT speaker is surprisingly good. One more light is integrated in the base, and the app can be used to set only the lower part, the upper part or both parts of the lamp to be lit. The control app is intuitive but lacks English translation, which may put some users off, but it's not something that would put you off getting the lamp. Some might also be surprised that the lamp updates its built-in control software from time to time.
