Yes the bulb needs a ZigBee gateway. It's not a WiFi bulb. via ZigBee and drivers (ZigBee) works absolutely reliably. It can be set to not switch on after a power failure. It works like all other bulbs via ZigBee/Tuya but I find it more reliable. Complaining about it because there is no WiFi is completely misguided. Like buying a PS5 and crying that my XBOX games don't work on it.
