I bought this laser for professional use on construction jobs. The device itself seems to be working after the first time I switched it on, but the delivery experience was very poor. The product was delivered to my AlzaBox in a heavily damaged original box. The box was significantly dented in several places, deformed and torn. The main problem I have is that the original packaging is not sufficiently reinforced on the inside and the device is not adequately protected against mechanical stress. When the packaging is knocked or compressed, the mechanical load is transferred directly onto the laser itself. For a professional measuring device in this price category, this is completely unacceptable in my opinion. This isn't just an ordinary tool, but a sensitive instrument whose main purpose is precise measurement. A mechanical impact can negatively affect its calibration and accuracy, without the fault being apparent when you just switch it on. I'm keeping the device for now, because it works based on a basic test. However, that doesn't mean there couldn't be some hidden damage. I am currently resolving the whole situation with Alza's customer service. For me, a professional measuring instrument of this value should be much better protected during shipping. I would therefore advise potential customers to thoroughly check the condition of the packaging upon receipt and then also the accuracy of the laser itself.
