It kept disconnecting, so I had to return it. It might have worked for transferring 10GB of data, but with 100GB it disconnected and the transfer failed. I returned it and bought a different model.

AXAGON EE35-GTR (purchased in 2026)
Overall, a disappointment. I have an older model of the BOX from the same brand, and that one’s been working fine for years; in my opinion, this one’s rubbish.
Sturdy metal construction.
Secure mounting of the HDD.
The HDD’s sleep mode, which kicks in after just a few seconds, is completely nonsensical. It’s ruining the HDD and it’s driving me up the wall.
One of the two BOXes is faulty; it keeps disconnecting from the PC of its own accord (it’s not the PC – I’ve tested it on various PCs using different cables and power supplies).

It doesn't look very good, but it works and does its job.
12TB 3.5 WD Ultrastar drive on Mack encrypted works
Write/read speeds of about 100-125 Mbps USB-C to M2 Mac, I used a TB4 cable.
So far it has transferred the first 4TB in 13 hours reliably
does not overheat temperature around 40c at 14h of continuous writing
The disk does not turn off completely either after disconnecting or after pressing the power button. It's still spinning. Hard shutdown by pulling the cable does not work reliably.
technically very simple, there is a tiny motherboard

Delivery - damaged cardboard box, apparently already opened once, but the goods inside were OK, so I kept it.
The delivery, a damaged cardboard box, was supposed to be brand new but it looked like it had already been opened once.
Short USB cable
