Choice of operating system
Users can choose between two operating systems based on their specific requirements. The QTS system is suitable for general file sharing and hybrid storage. The ZFS-based QuTS hero system provides advanced protection. This system supports inline deduplication, compression, and data compaction for efficient use of available hard drive capacity.
Fast network connection
The device includes two built-in 2.5Gb/s Ethernet ports, which are backward compatible with 1Gb/s and 100Mb/s speeds. Using port trunking technology, it's possible to create a total transfer speed of up to 5Gb/s. The network interface also supports Wake on LAN and Jumbo Frame functions. You can use existing CAT5e cabling to connect to 2.5GbE switches without needing to replace the wires.
Expansion options
Two free PCIe Gen 3 × 4 slots are available for installing various expansion cards to boost performance. These slots can be fitted with 10Gb/s network cards, Wi-Fi 6 wireless adapters, or SAS/SATA expansion cards. Installing expansion cards increases the flexibility of the entire network storage solution for growing businesses. The cards are also used to connect external TL SATA, TL SAS, and REXP expansion units to further increase the total storage capacity.
M.2 SSD acceleration
The integrated M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 3 × 1 slots help to speed up access to frequently used files. Qtier technology automatically moves data between fast SSDs and high-capacity HDDs based on how often they are used. This automatic optimisation significantly reduces access times and speeds up overall system responsiveness.
Graphics card support
You can install compatible NVIDIA graphics cards that do not require external power into the free slots. The cards assist with video processing, 4K resolution transcoding, or when running virtual machines. The GPU takes the computational load off the main AMD Ryzen processor, improving the smoothness of demanding operations.
Virtualisation and security
The device is certified for VMware Ready, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix, and Veeam Ready virtualisation platforms. This enables easy hosting of containerised applications and entire virtual operating systems directly on the storage. Integrated snapshot features protect stored data from ransomware attacks and simplify recovery.
