Printer Ink: What is a Cartridge?

Cartridges are containers containing printer ink. The cartridges usually include the liquid ink cartridge itself, the print head, and the print nozzle. You have black, cyan, magenta, and yellow ink cartridges when it comes to colour shades. Together, the shades form the CMYK colour model used by all printers.

The word "cartridge" is not only used for ink cartridges, but also for all other printer cartridges. You may also come across toner cartridges.

How is the Printer Ink Transferred from the Cartridge to the Paper?
