F1.4 wide-angle lens for excellent low-light performance
The lens offers a fixed focal length of 16mm (24mm equivalent at 35mm), an unusually wide field of view and excellent optical performance. The maximum aperture of F1.4 ensures high image quality in low lightand impressive bokeh in macro photos that can be taken from a minimum distance of 15cm.
Advanced optics for maximum sharpness and minimal glare
Two aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion elements are included in the optical design to help reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations for improved sharpness, clarity and colour accuracy. The Nano-GI (Gradient Index) coating applied to the lens elements changes the refractive index between the glass and air to better suppress glarey and doubling under screen sizely incident light.
Enhanced contrast and precision focusing for superior image quality
The HT-EBC surface coating was applied to the entire surface of each element to reduce glare and ghosting and for improved contrast and colour fidelity when working in bright light conditions. The optics are complemented by a fast and quiet autofocus motor. This is paired with a dual-group floating focusing system to achieve precise focusing and consistent image quality across the entire focusing range, from a minimum focusing distance of 15cm to infinity.
Durable design and fast autofocus for shooting in all conditions
The weather-resistant design includes nine different seals in eight areas to prevent dust and moisture from entering the lens and allow carefree use in adverse conditions and freezing temperatures down to -10°C. Fast autofocus, durable construction and easy portability resulting from its compact size are all advantages that give it a wide range of photographic possibilities.
