D-Link DAP-X2810

D-Link DAP-X2810
The D-Link DAP-X2810 WiFi Access Point is a dual-band access point operating on the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard, offering a combined transfer speed of up to 1775Mbps. This AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 access point is designed for high-density business environments such as offices, warehouses, or educational institutions, where a reliable connection for many users simultaneously is essential. To efficiently serve multiple devices at once, it uses MU-MIMO, OFDMA, and Beamforming technologies, which optimise data flows and reduce network latency. Power is supplied exclusively by PoE+ (Power over Ethernet), simplifying installation in locations without direct access to a power socket and reducing cabling costs. Centralised network management is handled by the free Nuclias Connect software and mobile app, which is used for configuring, monitoring, and scaling the wireless infrastructure from a single location.
Key features of the D-Link DAP-X2810 WiFi Access Point
- Uses MU-MIMO, 2×2 MIMO, Beamforming, and Airtime Fairness technologies
- Supports WDS and 802.11k/r roaming to create an extensive network
- Creates up to 16 separate SSIDs
- Includes one Gigabit Ethernet port with PoE+ power
- Works in AP, WDS bridge, WDS with AP, or wireless client modes
- Network security uses modern WPA3 encryption
- Network managed by Nuclias Connect software and app or web interface
Performance and efficiency with Wi-Fi 6
This access point divides its transmission capacity between two bands, reaching speeds of 575Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and up to 1200Mbps on the 5GHz band. For optimal signal distribution and client handling, it uses technologies like 2×2 MU-MIMO and SmartBeam (Beamforming), which direct the signal straight to connected devices. The Airtime Fairness feature allocates equal transmission time to all clients, preventing older devices from slowing down the network. Band Steering technology automatically moves compatible clients to the faster, less congested 5GHz band, optimising load and increasing overall network throughput.
Extended coverage and roaming
To create a large, unified wireless network, the device supports WDS bridge and WDS with AP modes. These features enable the wireless linking of multiple access points, extending coverage without needing to lay additional cables. Seamless user movement within the covered area is supported by 802.11k/r roaming standards and the L2 roaming feature. These mechanisms ensure a smooth transition for devices between access points without connection dropouts, which is crucial for VoIP calls or video conferences. The system also lets you create up to 16 separate SSIDs for network segmentation, such as separating guest and employee networks.
Centralised management and operating modes
Network management is handled centrally via the free Nuclias Connect software and mobile app, used for monitoring and configuring multiple access points from one location. For local setup, it also offers an intuitive web interface. Management includes a customisable captive portal for guest authentication, which you can tailor to your company's identity. The DAP-X2810 offers several operating modes to suit specific network requirements, such as access point (AP), WDS bridge, WDS with AP, and wireless client for connecting devices without their own Wi-Fi module.
Security and connectivity of the D-Link DAP-X2810 Wi-Fi access point
Network security uses modern WPA3-Personal/Enterprise encryption, which provides robust protection against attacks. The device maintains backward compatibility with older WPA/WPA2 standards. Other security features include MAC address filtering and station isolation, which prevents unwanted communication between clients connected to the same network. For network connection and power, it uses a single Gigabit Ethernet LAN port with PoE+ (802.3at) support. This means only one cable is needed for both data and power.
