For photographing flowers, jewellery and insects
The Canon MR-14EX II ring flash is the ideal tool for capturing details in nature, science or product photography. By evenly illuminating small objects, it eliminates harsh shadows and delivers natural-looking images with subtle light gradients. Precise exposure metering is provided by the advanced E-TTL II system, which analyses the scene and automatically adjusts the flash intensity for the truest result.
Freedom to work creatively with light and shadow
One of the strongest points of the Canon MR-14EX II is the ability to independently control two lamps, which can be set in a range of up to 6 EV. This way, you can either suppress shadows for even lighting or, conversely, highlight the texture and depth of the subject by lighting only one side. The swivel flash head, which fits around the lens, allows you to direct the light precisely according to your compositional vision.
Preserving realistic colours
The Canon MR-14EX II external flash boasts a guide number of 14 at ISO 100, meaning it can light up even very complex scenes with sufficient intensity. This performance allows you to use higher aperture numbers that increase depth of field, a key factor in macro photography where the range of the focused area tends to be very small. The flash also transmits colour temperature information to the camera body, which helps accurate auto white balance and preserve realistic colours.
Canon MR-14EX II external flash as multi-source lighting
The Canon MR-14EX II external flash is designed not only as a standalone unit, but also as part of an advanced lighting system. It can serve as a wireless master flash in combination with other Canon Speedlite units, that are set as slaves. Thanks to optical signal transmission, you can, for example, use a second flash to illuminate the background or add another dimension to the scene.
Reliable, intuitive
The Canon MR-14EX II combines advanced technology with simple and intuitive operation. In addition to full integration with EOS cameras, the flash features a clear dot LCD display and LED modeling lamps to aid focusing and composition in challenging lighting conditions. The flash charges in just 5.5 seconds, so you don't miss any important shots. Thanks to the self-cleaning socket with two-line electronic transmission, the connection to the camera remains stable and trouble-free even during frequent use in the field.
