For me, the expectation is fulfilled. We have two peeing dogs at home and I took it for daily maintenance (once a week I vacuum properly anyway with a big vacuum cleaner it doesn't miss). It picks up hairs and crumbs without any problem, it drives purposefully next to the place (no confused driving), it can be set to drive around walls only. We don't have carpeting, so I'm not evaluating that. It wipes up clogged floors and removes dust just fine (I don't know what kind of magic everyone expects, but it's still just a little robot - of course it doesn't wipe up dried drips. you wouldn't have to do anything at home: -) sometimes you just have to wipe properly). The only thing you won't find in the app is the delineation of zones where you can and cannot go, the map really does reload every time as others have reviewed. I personally don't mind at least I can see where he has cleaned and where he hasn't, and I want him to clean everywhere every time. I haven't personally noticed that he can't find the docking station. He always knows where he started from so he knows where to go back to, even when I took him to another room and started cleaning from a different place than the dock, he found his way back without any problem. The only thing he struggles with and can't say, "no" to is the clothes hanger legs - he tries to run over them but never succeeds. I let it vacuum when I'm not drying clothes. For those who don't want miracles and IQ of a thousand, I think it is acceptable for a good price. However, if you need more detailed settings in the application in terms of some space demarcations, etc. - I would choose another device with more options.
