I bought the headphones primarily for listening in the comfort of my home. Even after the first few minutes I was pleasantly surprised by the "out of the box" presentation - even unplayed headphones offer a very pleasant amount of detail and a very decent sound presentation in general. The bass is just right and doesn't bother, the highs don't cut it. I didn't use an equalizer. I tried playing FLAC and MP3 320 kbps from my phone. I had for years only Koss Porta Pro and for listening e.g. for jazz music these were the obvious choice, for electronic music I'd reach for a JBL with ANC in this price range.
They do not have active noise cancellation, but because ANC e.g. Unfortunately, the JBL Tune 600BTNC distorts the music anyway, but in the end I don't miss the ANC function at all.
