After a week of use I have not found any major fault. I was looking for a mobile that would be as small as possible (height, width), have a reasonable weight and at the same time have the largest battery capacity and I didn't find anything better on the market. I was looking for a mobile phone for several days trips to the countryside, i.e. long battery life and at the same time compact size and reasonable weight. I'm not a fan of armoured phones that can withstand a rock fall but weigh half a kilo. Pixel 9A meets my expectations so far. Two-day trip with sleeping under a tent lasted on one charge (exactly 36 hours from 100% to 10%, dark theme on all the time), while I did not save it - maps + GPS, mobile internet, camera, chat app, flashlight - I took it out of my pocket at least 3 times an hour. Moreover, it is easy to read even in bright sunlight. With my normal work schedule, it is able to handle 3 days. When I'm in the office, I touch my phone minimally, I do everything via computer.
Battery lasts really long (1.5 days under heavy load, otherwise 3 days)
Quite compact size
Camera function "add me"
Fast response
eSIM + standard SIM
IP68 resistance
The photos are great
The only thing that is lacking in perfection for me is the audio jack. I can't plug in my old headphones anymore, but I can live without them.
So far the price, 14 thousand is enough, with similar parameters the Chinese competition is at least 20-30% cheaper.
5 years old Huawei had 5nasobny optical zoom, here is only 2nasobny
The camera lacks a manual mode - ISO, time, aperture - I would expect this in a mobile phone of this price category, especially when it can shoot in RAW

Switching from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12t, I have to say that the phone makes bombs
High quality and minimalistic camera, I don't really like cameras that take up the whole back of the phone
Built-in AI Gemini, I'm surprised what it can do
Clean Android, only Google products in factory settings, no bloatware. (I'm looking at you Xiaomi! )
Lots of smart features (Adaptive Charging, 80% battery limit, built-in song recognizer, etc. )
Fingerprint reader on screen, works perfectly despite my concerns
Slower charging (23W from the mains is not much and I only use the 7.5W wireless when I go to sleep)
Absence of 3.5mm Jack and SD card
The speakers sound a little worse quality to me

Maximum satisfaction - I will probably not leave the Google Pixel series anymore
biometrics - not only fingerprint, but also facial recognition
adaptive charging, i.e. when you put the charge in the evening (I think after 22:00) and you have set an alarm, it spreads the charging over time and charges slowly, respectively. up to 80% right away and then the last 20% recharges slowly until the alarm time in the morning so that it is not at 100% right away and the battery does not overcharge all night.
3 cameras - resp. 3 zooms for shooting
taking photos - the ability to select the ideal picture - ie makes the photo like a few seconds video (it looks like a photo from the newspaper in Harry Potter: )) and from that the best second is chosen
beautiful purple colour
instead of the bottom 3 buttons (square, circle and triangle) you can adjust the movements with your finger
besides Samsung (which are higher price range) and LG (which no longer makes cell phones) it's about the only option for non-Chinese Android
amazing price-performance ratio
256 GB: )
no headphone jack if you were used to it
compared to LG, the inability to change the order of the bottom 3 buttons - on LG you could set that I don't want the triangle (back button) on the left, but on the right and the right button on the left and here it's not possible. But I solved it by taking the buttons completely off and instead there's an option to set finger movements
I haven't figured out how to make, or rather. add a screen to the left of the main home screen - on the LG Velvet it worked

so far it works as it should
battery capacity is really good
Gemini claims that she doesn't speak Czech, but according to an article I managed to get her to understand and speak normal Czech
It took two days to get my few apps I use up and running, e.g. google maps went crazy at the beginning and wrote only in English and in the settings it could not be corrected, even by several restarts, but the next day it was already in Czech.

A phone that does a few things right and many things wrong. I'll talk about the prisoners later on. For starters, I'm a longtime Pixel user, and I've directly compared the 9a to the P7 and P9. The phone has the current Tensor G4 cip in it, but it does not have its modem, but the problematic modem from the previous model. It suffered from high power consumption and signal dropouts. How problematic it will be here will become clear in time. The chip still has about 50% of the performance of the current cpu switch. There are promised 7 years of OS updates but it is questionable how Android 22 will move on the Tensor G4. The display uses low-frequency PWM for dimming, so if you are sensitive to it, it can burn your eyes or give you a migraine. The display offers only two colour adjustment options. Natural and adaptive (alive). Would you take the blue down a bit, or increase the red? Forget it. Strange behaviour of Adaptive Brightness. It often pulls the brightness down unreasonably low. In the interior I thought it was 100% automatic. jase corresponded to 40% on manual jase, at the same luminance. So if the display seemed dark and I wanted to increase the brightness, I couldn't, because I was at 100%. I had to turn on manual brightness in the menu. Hopefully this will be fixed with an update. The main sensor is smaller than for example in P7,8,9. Compared to a direct comparison with P7 and P9, it loses. Also on P7. The 9a has better white balance, but is worse in amount and therefore detail. But the differences are visible when you compare them on the monitor. If you just take a photo and look at it on your mobile screen or throw it on Instagram, don't worry. As I mentioned, there is a smaller cip and therefore a smaller Blur effect, i.e. blurring of the surroundings. Smaller cip = greater depth of field. The selfie has no focus and it seems to me that the focus plane is moved too far back. I mean I take a selfie and I am out of focus, but the objects 0.5m behind me are already in focus. (I have noticed this in several foreign reviews) Another negative, for me, is 128GB as a base in 2Q 2025 and it is another sign that Google and Apple are missing the Chinese technological train. Because Cina can offer high-speed charging, better CPU, 256GB UFS 4.0 storage in cheaper waters. Here you pay for the software. It is up to you what you choose. And for me the biggest negative, the Battery health assistance fiction. Google will reduce the maximum battery voltage after 200 charging cycles and therefore affect your capacity. After about half a year of use, Google will artificially reduce your battery capacity. How much? only Google knows.
nice shape and weight = good grip
almost pure android, fast and regular updates
long support
wifi time
the main camera can focus from a short distance = "macro" photos
really huge bezels around the display
problematic modem from Pixel 8
low frequency PWM display
strange behaviour of automatic brightness
Battery health assistance
slow charging (both wired and wireless)

Great phone with a little fingerprint trick I'm otherwise completely satisfied with the Pixel 9a - it runs fast, has clean Android, a great camera and long battery life. The only thing that annoyed me at first was the fingerprint reader under the display - it often didn't recognize my thumb or it took a long time. I finally figured it out: ✅ I registered the same finger several times (different angles - tip, side, oblique) ✅ In the display settings, I turned on the "Sensitive/light touch" option (it may be called something else) Since then, unlocking works quickly and reliably, even with a gentle touch. So if that bothers you too - try this and see the difference.

Nice photos
The main lens focuses from a short distance
Battery life
The camera module is compact and hardly stands out.
The weight is perfectly distributed and thanks to that it is easy to hold.
Unfortunately it doesn't have the formfactor or weight of the Pixel 5 it was the sweet spot for me.
