This is because there is too much space between the two wheel positions, which are right behind each other, which by the manufacturer's design allows the wheel to move to an unspecified position, a kind of "intermediate position". You won't notice this with the naked eye, so you have to touch the wheel to see if it has any clearance to move to one of the positions or if it sits firmly in position. With tiny touches of your fingers, you can gradually move the wheel from a fixed position to an intermediate position without your knowledge. This often gives you a surprise in the form of an unexpectedly shifted wheel, where your next touch on the wheel is the last touch needed to move it from the intermediate position to the next position. In practice, it looks like, for example, when playing computer games (FPS), you swap the weapon on the character with the mouse wheel when you don't want to. To achieve this unwanted phenomenon, from experience, all you have to do is consider changing your weapon and placing your finger on the scroll wheel in deliberation, or nervously moving your fingers on the mouse, or actively using the left and right mouse buttons with your smaller hand and touching the scroll wheel now and then. I often changed my weapon this way at the least opportune moment, leading to my failure in the game. I got around this by changing weapons the old-fashioned way, with numbers on the keyboard, and using the mouse wheel only for scrolling outside the game. As it is a gaming mouse, this is unacceptable. I'm keeping the mouse anyway because the supply of mice is terrible at the moment, but it's a huge handicap. I assume it will be the same for other Glorious models.
