I really hate to write negative reviews, but I just have to this time. I bought both types of dates from Alza - Deglet Nour and Medjoul jumbo. I spit it out and look - the inside of the date was full of black "dust". I don't know what it was, mold? Better not think. Since then, I have carefully halved each date on a plate and unfortunately, I will not buy any more of each type. The black "dust" was only in one Medjoul jumbo date. But I found little dead bugs in the other two. For a long time I thought that the smaller Deglet Nour variety was clean and good - unfortunately, I found the bugs too when I carefully stung it. So for me, no, not ever again. The taste is very good and if you examine the dates, only units in the whole package were really crappy. But I don't have the nerve. Note: I read another review that's here. The white 'mould-like' surface of the dates may actually just be 'shriveled' or 'dried' sugar. That's fine, and it's a sign of slightly older, drier dates. I didn't have such a thing on my dates, they were beautifully soft, without any coating. Unfortunately, I found the black "mold" above. and she's definitely not OK. So I don't know what mould the lady in the other review discovered
