When not in use for a long time, the monitor goes into sleep mode and needs to be manually switched on from the back (tested on usb-c). The time can be set. The button is quite accessible. If you like a top-notch picture, you need to pay extra. This model is a solid compromise from my point of view and I would rather not buy anything cheaper. I tried a half-price AOC that was really hard to watch.
