The advantage is the robust design, with which the cable does not get tangled on the table, and in addition, each port has its own switch. The possibility of external power supply from an adapter is also advantageous. I definitely recommend it.
It would be easier to connect an external adapter with a USB connector, because then it would be possible to use chargers with a USB output.
