I got a Sonos Move 2 and a JBL Boombox 4. I couldn't just choose based on reviews, I needed to hear how it sounded and how it was to live with. After unpacking, I unfortunately fell in love with both. sound, design and workmanship. The JBL Boombox 4 is made to BE outdoors where the bass will rumble at the barbecue, on the construction site, at the cottage. I also found it generally louder, easier to use and quick to connect. I would probably get this if I were still a student, it would be perfect for me! I'd use it on everything from morning till night and get on everyone's nerves =-) In the end I stuck with the Sonos Move 2. The reason is the style of use. It will be primarily on a daily basis in the office and in the apartment. I'm gonna take the max out to the party. 1x a year. If I had a use for both, I'd keep both. This JBL just wasn't suitable for my needs. Compared to the Sonos, it has weaker mids that sound slightly tinny. But the volume of the whole Boombox somehow makes up for it in power in the other bands, and if I wasn't comparing between JBL/Sonos/5.1 sound system/headset, I wouldn't even think about it. Sometimes when he played longer, I found the whole sound pleasant. Just the bass was just too much for my taste in an enclosed space, even on a low setting: ) Rating by media type: For Rock, DnB, Metal music it gets 4.5/5 (I think there is probably nothing better in such a compact package for closed spaces).
