I switched to the seven from the Vivoactive 4 mainly because of the greater battery life (Vivo 4 have a relatively weak battery and eg. a day hike). The endurance of the 7 is completely different! I'm quite surprised how many more metrics they give 7, especially in running, but also cycling and swimming. It's just a different league. It's not a watch for everyone, and most people won't use its potential, but for active athletes it's just a top.

A sleek watch with many sport/health features, but completely ruined by a terrible display.

Disastrous display - I was expecting it to be worse than AMOLED, but this really is a disaster. The display shows only two colours well - black and white, red and blue are still recognizable, the others are just different shades of faded. The product photos don't really match. Otherwise, the quality of the watch is brought down by the terrible appearance of the display to the level of the junk from the marketplace. That's why I returned the watch.
Does not have wireless charging
The controls are quite cumbersome (esp. compared to Samsung and Apple). You need two apps on your mobile, something can only be done on the watch, and you need to install Garmin Express on your PC to do something. Pretty incredible.

at this price level, the glass could be sapphire as standard, but Garmin's policy forces us to buy a higher model with solar charging, which in reality does not significantly extend the battery life
the Alza employee at the checkout desk tried quite insistently to get me to buy the "Instant Replacement Warranty", but the information he provided was not true, such as the fact that this warranty also applies to the battery ("Instant replacement does not apply to accessories, parts and accessories of the product, such as. batteries, cables, headphones, light bulbs or adapters.
