You need to go through the settings and find "Recommendations", this will turn off recommendations in the notification grid etc. The only thing that probably can't be guaranteed is that the remaining apps don't send something more in telemetry, e.g. personal data (it's China, after all). I really recommend the phone. The packaging and foil from the factory are fine and fit nicely.
