I dug the Xiaomi 17 for the sake of replacing my Samsung S22, I was looking for a topmodel of compact dimensions and found it here. It really has everything a demanding user would want, for myself I highlight the giant 6330mAh silicon/carbon battery, thanks to which the phone can last without problems for two days of demanding use (for comparison, the current Samsung S26 has 4300mAh, a mockery). It shoots naturally without any lag and Android Auto handles all tasks smoothly. What the phone unfortunately loses out on to the competition is the software. I uninstalled the bloatware, it doesn't pose a problem, but the ergonomics of using common apps like calendar or phone is lower. For example, the phone app asked me to rate the app when a call came in. In several places the system behaves as if it were displaying an advertisement. Conclusion: I am a demanding user and I expect the phone to work perfectly. The Xiaomi 17 offers unsurpassed performance coupled with very high craftsmanship at an affordable price. If one is willing to make concessions on the phone system, this machine is for you.

I switched to the Xiaomi 17 from the Samsung Galaxy S21, which stopped receiving security updates. Otherwise, I wouldn't change it yet. I've only been using the phone for a few days, but first impressions are very good. The main reason for the choice was the compact size, which is quite rare in powerful phones today, while the phone has a large battery and very fast charging. The phone's performance and display are excellent, although the adaptive brightness worked better on my old Samsung. So far I'm getting used to HyperOS, which is quite well tuned, but I found the Samsung environment more refined in details. I'm also a bit disappointed with the smaller frame for the wide-angle camera and the mediocre accessories in the package (USB-A/USB-C cable and low-quality cover). On the other hand, it is nice that the phone has a protective film of the display already glued from the factory. Overall, though, I'm happy with the phone and would recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful flagship phone in a compact body.
