At first glance, the Vivo 70 impresses with its luxurious and expensive-looking design, which is helped to practical perfection by the factory-applied protective glass and the high-quality silicone case included in the box. The main camera performs absolutely top-notch and produces detailed images with true-to-life colours, although it would have benefited from a slightly better wide-angle sensor for complete flawlessness, which falls a little short of the main lens quality. Overall, though, it's a sleek and powerful machine that definitely feels like it's in a higher price league thanks to its design and the capabilities of its primary sensor.

At first glance, the v70 is similar to the iPhone. The processing quality is very good and also comparable to Apple products. For me, the most important thing is the quality of photos and battery life. In these respects, this phone came out the best in my survey (I compared it with, for example, the A56, A57, Pixel 9a, Pixel 8, etc. ). I was pleasantly surprised that the first quick photo comparison with my brother's Google Pixel 8 was comparable in photo quality (the Pixel is perhaps a bit more consistent and "tuned"). Photos taken with the v70 on the internet even look worse than my personal tests. The battery life is plenty for 1 day of active use and with my normal use it lasts even longer than 2 days. With which I am satisfied beyond measure. I switched from an old Samsung A50 (7 year old phone) and the difference is marked in all aspects. I'm very happy with the purchase, even though I'm a proponent of rather cheaper phones (because it seems to me that I get a better price-performance ratio). However, if I had a newer phone, maybe two years old in a similar price range (mid to mid-high), I would probably think more about whether the upgrade is worth it.

I was looking for a replacement for my ageing Oppo Reno 5Z 5G – preferably from the same brand (I liked ColourOS), with a good camera (my old Oppo’s biggest weakness was probably its camera) and one that didn’t need charging every day. Ideally, something more compact. The Oppo Reno 15 Pro was already beyond my budget, and after trying out a phone running HyperOS – which didn’t suit me – the Vivo V70 was the only option left - Origin OS is quite similar to Oppo’s (though I did prefer the style of the scroll-down menu on my old Oppo). The phone takes lovely photos (though I’m just an ordinary user, not a professional photographer), and even after reducing the display’s refresh rate to 60Hz, the images and transitions are beautifully smooth. The only thing I noticed was a slightly slower response (having to tap several times) in certain areas of the screen – particularly when turning on Wi-Fi and in the top right-hand corner of the phone. After adjusting the display refresh rate and turning off all unnecessary animations, my phone lasts for about 1.5 days of normal use (social media, etc.) the internet, music, photos, the odd game now and then). However, you still have to bear in mind that, even if your phone has a high-capacity battery, the operating system and everything else are becoming increasingly demanding, so you can’t expect miracles. The phone has a lovely, clean design, but without a case, its surface is actually quite slippery – I’d recommend buying a good protective case. Compared to my old Oppo phone, it’s shorter in height but wider, so it won’t be suitable for one-handed use if you have very small hands. Overall, after using it for just over a month, I’m satisfied, and I think any teething problems will likely be resolved through future OS updates. Given its introductory price and the specifications, it was the obvious choice for me, and although I’d never had any experience with the Vivo brand before, I don’t regret buying it.
