The phone is definitely overpriced, with it's almost neglected UI. The photo app doesn't have a manual mode (or I didn't find it in the ui). Everything can be fixed with an update, but I'm afraid it will never come.

After almost eight years, I found that it was time to replace my still functional but already very slow phone. My main requirement when choosing a new device was a small enough size to comfortably operate the phone with one hand, which in this day and age of 6.5+ inch phones narrows the choice considerably. Other requirements were the presence of 5G, USB-C, as a plus I also perceived a 3.5 mm jack, long battery life and the lowest possible price. In the final, I was deciding between the Sony Xperia 10 VI and the Google Pixel 8a. The decision finally fell on Sony and after a few weeks of use I am quite happy with the phone. It fulfills what I expected of it. As the biggest advantage of the phone I have to highlight the battery life. With light use I usually charge after 4 days. The speed of charging with a charger from the same manufacturer (neither the cable nor the adapter is included) is not dizzying, but I personally don't mind. On the other hand, I might welcome the possibility of wireless charging. The mobile phone is really comfortable to operate with one hand, which, in addition to the size, is also helped by the side sensor function. I also like the 21:9 aspect ratio, which allows me to fit a lot of content on the screen at once when scrolling. The quality of the photos from the camera is satisfactory. The UI is smooth, although some might have liked a display with a higher refresh rate. As far as sound goes, I'm thrilled with the stereo speakers, as well as the presence of a 3.5mm jack. I was also pleased with the possibility of expanding the memory using a microSD card, which is not commonplace in all phones today, and it is easily accessible - the drawer slides out with just a fingernail. What I miss on the phone is a notification LED or always-on display (always-on phone has only when charging), so the phone does not alert you to overheard notifications. Despite its minor shortcomings, I definitely recommend the phone, especially to those looking for a compact phone with great battery life.

I had the opportunity to test all generations of this series. And I must say that in terms of agility, so far the best of all. On the contrary, the camera disappointed. It can take nice photos during the day, and it can actually be done in the evening as well. Even macro, but no zoom. The quality is no longer the same as the previous generation. In general, it is a shame that they increased the HW specifications at the expense of the camera. For that money, they could do both at a decent level if they didn' t have their pride.
