The grinder is very powerful, which is probably also due to the fact that it requires quite a large number of batteries. The grinder doesn't really handle the wetter types of salt, in my case Celtic but sea salt or pepper it handled just fine. For my taste, there is quite a lot of salt left inside the grinder, which is not practical in case one wants to refill the salt.
