You can just "blow" the steam once, but also turn it on permanently - otherwise I hardly iron anymore - the steam automatically turns off when you lift the iron or when you stop in one place, so you don't have to turn the steam on and off all the time, which I had to do when ironing with an older model. I was wondering for a long time whether I should buy a steam one again (it is expensive) or a classic steaming one. I borrowed a steaming one from my daughter - after 20 min of work I put it away, saying that I didn't want to do it this way - it is extremely heavy with full water, so my wrists hurt, I had to constantly refill the water, which is very delaying, and most importantly - I had to iron the clothes twice as long to get them really ironed.
