First impression embarrassed, I was actually convinced I would return them, but a firmware update changed everything. ATTENTION, the headphones must be connected directly with the usb-c cable (they must not be in the charging stand) for the update to be offered. The originally low volume has leveled out and is totally ok, now I have to turn the volume down as well. I was struggling a bit with the EQ settings, but since I found some absolutely brilliant presets on youtube and reddit that I uploaded to my headphones, it's a total blast.

When they arrived, I was hesitant to return them because the side tone feature (you hear in the headphones what you say into the microphone) was basically non-functional. But today, to my pleasant surprise, a firmware update arrived and the side tone is working as it should. I'm glad I keep the headphones because even the volume rocker is metal, you can put the headphones in the docking station where the headphones charge wirelessly with ease, and you can remove them just as easily.
