A feature of electronic sewing machines that allows controlling the start and stop of sewing using a button, typically marked „Start/Stop“. In this mode, the sewing speed is not regulated by foot pressure on the pedal, but is set beforehand using a sliding speed control. This allows the machine to sew at a constant, pre-selected speed, which is advantageous, for example, for long straight seams or decorative stitches where consistency is important. This method of control is also an alternative for users who, for various reasons, cannot or do not wish to use a foot controller.
