My experience with the Xiaomi 17T Pro: I had the chance to try it out before I bought it, and: A solid piece of kit that won’t let me down
I was looking for a phone I could rely on 100 per cent – one that wouldn’t lag when using sat-nav or even with ten apps open at once, and above all, one that would last for a good number of kilometres without needing to be charged. Having used it for a while now, I have to say that the Xiaomi 17T Pro has hit the nail on the head.
Here are the things I’m excited about, and one little thing that’s a bit of a shame:
This torch is absolutely brilliant: The manufacturer has fitted this new silicon battery, and you can certainly tell the difference. The phone is beautifully slim, but the battery life is incredible. Even though I’m giving him a hard time, he’ll easily get through a whole demanding day and then some. And when the battery runs out, I’ll top it up via the cable in a couple of minutes.
Performance to spare: No waiting, no tugging. The system runs like a dream, whether I’m switching between apps or just want to pass the time with a game.
A display that’s a joy to look at: It’s really easy to read, even when the sun’s beating down on it. The colours are brilliant, and it doesn’t strain your eyes, even after looking at the screen for a long time in the evening.
A camera that won’t let you down: The photos are sharp, with excellent detail, and, most importantly, the video is steady and doesn’t shake, which comes in handy in any situation.
The screen is a real fingerprint magnet: If there’s one thing that really annoys me about my phone, it’s that factory-fitted screen protector. It smudges very easily and shows every smear or fingerprint. You end up constantly wiping your phone on your T-shirt because the screen looks dirty straight away. The manufacturer could have used a better grease-resistant coating; as it is, I’ll probably sort it out in time by removing it and buying a proper protective glass cover. It’s also a shame that the pack no longer includes a charging adapter, just a cable.

I bought this phone as a replacement for my 14T. In terms of performance, there’s a noticeable improvement of around 5%, which is particularly evident when loading demanding games (RDR test). I would say that one weakness is the imbalance between the speakers, where the main speaker… It is very dominant, and when watching a video in landscape mode, the sound leans heavily to one side (this can be slightly adjusted in the settings). For around 17,000 (introductory price) it is, however, a very solid choice.

Perfect
The phone’s speed is brilliant; its main selling point is the camera, which takes lovely photos. The phone feels comfortable to hold, and the quality really shows. I originally had a Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, but this is in a completely different league.

I am satisfied with the phone.
The battery life is still almost half of what it was, even with all-day use.
It’s great that the pack also includes a cover and a clear film.
The camera is brilliant. It’s only been tested indoors so far, but it still looked brilliant.
The display is very easy to read.
The size is just right for me. I was used to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13.

Having had a good experience with our previous Xiaomi phone, we bought a Xiaomi 17T Pro for my wife as well. The phone offers top-of-the-range performance, a beautiful, bright display, a high-quality camera and very fast charging. We also appreciate the high-quality build, the ample storage space and the system’s smooth operation. The battery lasts a full day of normal use without any problems. So far, I’m completely satisfied and I can recommend this phone to anyone looking for a well-equipped smartphone at a reasonable price.
