the ability to switch bt inputs without having to turn off the headphones
the processor can perfectly filter out ambient noises when making calls
Positively surprised by the battery life when used in temperatures around zero

ANC works great in the office (openspace).
Clear function settings via the app.
Surprisingly light and comfortable.
Excellent microphones, great for conference calls.
Too bad they don't allow listening while charging.

They fit me nicely and do not press even after many hours.
ANC works great. So it's basically my first experience, but I'm satisfied. I immediately tried them on a multi-hour flight and didn't even want to take them off. Wonderful calm with the music.
Bulky case, but that's probably the tax for not folding
I'm still getting used to the touch controls. I still need to practice the right moves for volume and skipping tracks.

I was very much looking forward to the headphones, but unfortunately I have conflicting feelings about them - largely due to their specific use. I bought the headphones as a replacement for my old Sony MDR-1RNC, which I use at the computer and with my mobile phone and after 8 years they deserve a replacement. Compared to previous generations, I was very pleased with the larger earcup size, USB-C and Bluetooth 5.0. On the other hand, I would welcome a different surface treatment of the headphones themselves - the rubberization used is not entirely suitable for the use of gestures and is literally a magnet for fingerprints and smudges - I would prefer in this rather "bare plastic", as it was with the M3 and M4 models. In terms of wearing comfort, a step backwards for me is the narrow bridge over the head, which is uncomfortable and presses into the head during prolonged wear. The included 3.5mm jack cable is a nice bonus, but could be of better quality. The second category of evaluation is ambient noise cancellation - whether active (ANC) or passive by nature of the headphone design. The ANC is as expected at a high level, however I think in a more challenging environment (talking people, music etc. ) paradoxically does a better service than the older version. The passive soundproofing is weaker compared to previous versions - it seems to rely mainly on ANC. In my case, I also encountered an unpleasant detail - selected frequencies are amplified by the headphones without ANC on - if I was sitting at the computer, for example, I heard the noise from the fans stronger than when I did not have the headphones on at all. The third major category of evaluation is sound. Unfortunately, I'm on the fence here - depending on how you use the headphones, you may encounter two extremes. If you use the headphones as wireless (Bluetooth LDAC) or have them turned on and connected via cable, they sound very nice and I more or less don't have much objection to them. They're great headphones. But. If you connect the headphones with a cable via the 3.5mm jack and turn them off - so you use them in "passive" mode, when no "enhancement electronics" are working and the headphones do not modify the sound any further - you will get an experience so bad that I could hardly find a single piece of headphones at home that would sound worse (tested with the SoundBlaster AE-9 sound card and other high-quality sound sources). I was looking forward to the headphones, and although I was excited about them in many ways when comparing and testing them, overall they left me with very conflicted feelings. I'm sorry, I was rooting for them. Maybe the M6 version will be better.
great sound via bluetooth (LDAC) and cable (headphones on)
comfortable earpieces, larger than previous generations
USB-C and Bluetooth 5.0
battery life
very poor sound when listening in "passive mode" (3.5mm jack connected and headphones off)
poor quality 3.5mm jack cable
ANC did not impress much compared to older Sony headphones
narrow bridge over the head presses when worn for long periods of time
no NFC for pairing
headphone rubberization - more difficult to use control gestures
