So hopefully something will turn up in time.
The original Samsung launcher would be quite nice if it didn't waste so much space. So I replaced it with a Nova Launcher, which has a shameless amount of settings, and tweaked it. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to be messing with either the external display or multitasking and multi-window display.
