Sensor Size 1/2.7"

The 1/2.7" sensor size is a designation for the diagonal of an image sensor, which is a key camera component responsible for converting light into a digital image. This format is among the smaller sensors and is commonly used in mobile phones, compact cameras, webcams, or security cameras. The fractional notation, such as 1/2.7 inches, is a historical standard that does not correspond to the actual physical diagonal size in inches; in this case, the real diagonal is approximately 6.7 millimeters. Sensor size has a direct impact on image quality. A smaller sensor captures less light, which can lead to higher digital noise, manifesting as graininess in the image, especially when shooting in poor lighting conditions. At the same time, sensors of this size typically provide a large depth of field, meaning that a large part of the scene from foreground to background remains sharp. This is advantageous for landscape photography, for example, but it makes it more difficult to achieve the blurred background effect often used in portraits.
