I bought for the purpose of reading books, documents, internet content and note taking incl. drawings. Out of the box, I did a complete update. However, the reader was still very slow. The original book reading app got stuck several times even when loading sample books. I solved this by installing the long-used Cool Reader application, which was more responsive. The notes were quite good. The sensitivity to the stylus was good. And it's even compatible with Samsung's S-PEN. Internet browsers whether original or Google Chrome were very slow to load, choppy when scrolling, non-black font was very hard to read. I don't mean redrawing the display, which is a feature. But computationally, it didn't keep up. Overall, the colours are very pale and it doesn't look good compared to black. When reading books where the font is black and the pictures are in color, it doesn't matter so much and it's fine. But elsewhere, where the rest of the graphics, backgrounds, text is in colour, it's unsatisfactory. In bright light, the display, i.e. the black colour, is very legible. But if the light is dim, easily sufficient for a paper book, the reader is only usable with full illumination. So inside, in the shade outside you always need to shine. And that will be reflected in consumption. And then the battery goes down faster than a tablet with a regular display. Also, when downloading updates from Google Play, the device was quite warm. For inability to use as a web browser, choppiness, etc. I returned the reader. If I was just reading books, comics, taking notes on it, then I'd probably keep it. The colours, although pale, are sufficient for illustrations and charts. But those who don't need to distinguish the colours should choose only black.
