Shortly after recharging to 100%, it starts to get quite hot (50–60°C), buzz, and give off an irritating smell, indicating a 30–40W load even when nothing is connected to it. I made a complaint; the second unit behaves identically. This state lasts for many hours, as if it's trying to keep forcing power into the battery, overcharging it or something. You can interrupt it by switching the UPS off and on. The smell is irritating, so the UPS isn't suitable for a living space. I wouldn't buy it again; for example, the APC Back-UPS 650VA is a much more pleasant and hassle-free alternative. Otherwise, the basic functions and indications are OK.

A great little UPS for a NAS, in my case a QNAP TS-251D. The NAS recognized it immediately and allowed me to set the time to shutdown - I set 1 hour, even though the UPS trusts itself for 2 hours of operation - and I'm good to go. UPS works fine. But there isn' t much time for a regular PC, and it' s best not to prolong the shutdown too much. I rather recommend the VP1600.
