A lot of users, including me, report a problem with camera focus. The main camera is unable to focus. They say it is a HW problem that can only be solved by replacing the entire module. The wide-angle camera works.

The phone is hardware-wise absolutely perfect. I don't know what I can fault him for - he's at the top of his class. The problem, however, is on the software side. After updating to Android 13, a number of really annoying things pop up (not locking the screen during a call, unlocking the screen in your pocket, unsolicited browser notifications even when notifications are turned off,. ), which cannot be changed even by setting. According to discussions, Asus knows about it, but no solution in sight. I DO NOT RECOMMEND the service of sticking protective glass from Alza. The glass cracked a few hours after I bought it (I treated the phone as if I had just bought it)! After a couple of days it cracked in 3 other places and the edges in these places were very sharp. Overall, the edge was very sharp - it was inferior quality glass. Fortunately, Alza complied and sent me a new glass, but I had to glue it myself.

I was choosing between the Zenfone 9 and the Pixel 7, the Zenfone won because it's smaller, nicer for me and Google Camera can be installed.
The photos are nice even from the native app, it's more about personal preference as to who likes which ones better. I mainly use GCam. There are already enough comparisons available on the web.

The phone is fine except for the terrible and malfunctioning camera. Unpleasant attitude of Alza, I have the feeling that they want to get rid of stock in time.

One of the main reasons for the purchase was supposed to be the great camera according to the reviews. The photos are horrible, everything blurs with minimal movement, a lot of photo features are missing and overall not very nice. ⛔ 2x recalled due to fogging (dew) of the top lens of the camera from the inside when taking pictures or filming outdoors in different weather conditions. The first complaint was resolved by repairing the camera, which did not solve anything and the lens became deaf again during use. The second complaint was resolved with a new piece, so we'll see how good the camera is. 👎The seller is fighting tooth and nail to return the money for a poor quality phone, even though I have twice requested a credit note to settle the claim. This is the ultimate waste of my time.
Wireless charging is missing
The surface of the phone is nice, but impractical, you can see every mini scratch and can not be cleaned

Asus has really done well with this model, it learned from the mistakes of its predecessor ZenFone 8 and significantly increased battery life, it does not overheat even when playing demanding games. Everything is fast and nimble, the 120 Hz display is familiar, photos and videos without problems. And for the fact that it' s a mobile phone, it has a nice sound and I can only recommend it.

If I had to sum it up in two words, it' s the phone of the year. ASUS has again come up with something exceptional - it has brought a compact flagship with a unique design and construction (the back material is really unique to me and feels premium despite the fact that it is some kind of plastic) and uncompromising performance. As a long-time user of ASUS phones (Zenfone 2, 3 and until now 6), I cannot praise this upgrade enough. The only minus is probably “only“ 30W charging.
