I've had my phone for 5 days so far. It's a short time to write an objective review but on the other hand, the phone got me with its speed, display and cameras. I switched to this phone from a 6 year old Zenfone 5 ZE620KL, which was already choppy and everything took time. After transferring data and apps from my old phone, everything works as it should. I'm not waiting long for anything. Personally, I'm also not a fan of the mediatek that beats in the bowels of this phone and I would prefer a Qualcolm processor, but sometimes you have to make some concessions. The same goes for the curved display, which isn't for everyone. Then there's the camera, which is why I bought the phone. 200 MPx photos look more than good even at night for the average user. But if someone is a photographer, they simply don't have the money for a proper DSLR. It can also shoot very well at night, when it pulls details out of the scene and everything is so beautiful to see. Slowly better than with my own eyes. You'd expect there to be some noise, but actually there's not much. Actually, I didn't notice when I was looking on my phone. The phone also includes AI, specifically the one from Google, Gemini, which got an update during this week. I won't comment much on the AI though, because it's more of a combat than a part of the mobile. But what AI can be used for directly on the mobile is photo editing, and that works very well. I've only tried it on a few photos so far, but I'll definitely try it on more. There is the ability to change the sky, delete people or objects, and other things to come with the update.
I'd like to go back to the camera. It can record 4k videos at 30fps, or, a much bigger bonus for me, fullHD videos at 60fps.
To this one can add the AMOLED display, which I was afraid would eat up enegy like a tank. But it's not. If one knows how to set up the phone, it's not a guzzler at all. I still don't understand the point of 120Hz display. But it's true that everything is nicely smooth on the display.
Well, I guess I'd end it all with a flashlight. This is all powered by a 55000mAh battery and I can say that in the time I have had the phone, 5 days, I have only charged the phone once. In normal use, i.e. 2x15 minutes of socks in the subway a day, then when it's time, listening to music from YT (when the display is lit) while washing dishes (about 30 minutes), the phone just holds.
Well, there's more stuff I could type on my phone, but I'd leave it here for a day before listing it all. Overall, I'm excited about the phone so far, especially in terms of speed, memory, storage, camera and display.
