This is already my third Xiaomi phone; until now, I’ve had a Redmi Note 12 Pro+. The new phone is lovely. A gorgeous purple colour – which made the ugly black case in the pack all the more surprising. I had a 120W charger for my old phone, but my new phone is only 100W – so I’ll have to buy a new charger. It strikes me as a step backwards. Otherwise, the phone ticks all the boxes I’d expect from Xiaomi’s top-of-the-range model.
beautiful colour and design
Leica camera
charger missing
an ugly black case

I’ve only had it for a day, but I’m already impressed by its speed and battery life. It fits comfortably in your hand and the weight is just right. I’d have a slight criticism regarding the phone’s tendency to overheat. The camera is very good.

The mobile runs like clockwork and the menu is very easy to navigate. You’ll be able to see the screen perfectly, even when the sun’s beating down on it. The battery is incredibly long-lasting – you can easily go two days without a charger, and when it does run out, the more powerful one charges it up in no time. I’m giving the camera a thumbs up too. The photos are beautifully sharp, the colours are vibrant, and it takes great photos even when it’s getting dark.
Beautiful design
Super fast response
5x optical zoom
Leica certification
The cover supplied could have a MagSafe attachment

I switched from the 14t Pro because it couldn’t keep up performance-wise. It’s a very similar phone. It takes better photos and the performance is more than enough for my needs. Bacteria are incredibly resilient. The phone gets quite warm.

I was happy with my Xiaomi Redmi 9T for five years. I was happy with the brand, and the battery life was good, but the time had come to move up a notch and pay a bit extra for a better machine. The choice fell on the Xiaomi 17T Pro, and you can tell straight away that this is a top-of-the-range model. If you’re switching from an older phone, here’s a summary of my first impressions so far.
Switching to the Xiaomi 17T Pro was a huge technological leap, and I don’t regret a single koruna. The bulge on the back is a bit of a let-down, but the performance, display, daytime photos and lightning-fast charging are incredible. A great choice if you want more from your phone and plan to keep it for a few more years.
What got me excited: • Speed: Everything responds instantly; there’s no lag. • Stunning daytime photos: So far, I’ve only tried taking photos in daylight, and I’m really impressed with the results. The colour rendering and level of detail are in a league of their own. Absolutely brilliant for quick snapshots. • Charging from another planet: If I forget to put it on the charger in the evening, I just need to put it on the charger in the morning before breakfast, have my breakfast, and it’ll be fully charged. • Great display: It’s wonderfully bright and perfectly legible even in direct sunlight, where I used to have to shield the screen with my hand.
What annoys me: • Protruding camera: The module sticks out quite a bit from the back. I see it as the price I have to pay for the quality of the photos.

I bought the Xiaomi 17T Pro as a replacement for the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, which I still consider to be a very good phone offering excellent value for money. For a long time, no other device really appealed to me, but this model finally strikes me as a genuine step forward. What caught my attention most were its higher performance, better display, more powerful battery, fast charging, wireless charging capability and improved camera features. All in all, I feel I’ve really got my money’s worth.
A cheaper version of Xiaomi’s flagship phone
Powerful and fast AI features running locally on the phone (for example, the translator does not require an internet connection) thanks to the fast NPU chip
Plenty of memory and a fast processor
5G, Wi-Fi 7, plenty of RAM, a fast processor and graphics
Two eSIMs at the same time (great for roaming outside the EU)
the usual pre-installed Xiaomi bloatware (it takes a bit of effort to disable it, but it’s possible, and the phone’s still worth it even with it)
